If you can't have a good time in Louisiana, the problem is you.

In fact, that whole list is pretty much laughable.

Except for food, maybe.

It was a very tough decision due to family and friends being here. My frustration is centered around the weather and lack of funds in this state that shows itself in so many ways.

So you chose to live here? GTFO with your whiny bullshite then.

Wow, you're a tough fella. A true "alpha" as they say, right?

Calm down and unwad your panties, it's a discussion.

Lol, half the threads on the OT on any given day are complaining about aspects of Louisiana (crime, statues, traffic, trashyness, etc...), but when someone compiles them all together and says Louisiana sucks as a whole you apologists put on your blinders and defend your shitty playground.

I'd say the same back at you. Sorry you don't like my opinion.

"why do people choose to live here, like I just did?" That's basically what your OP says.

Family.

That is it.

Now why my family settled here...I'll never know.

I'm sure it's very hard for you to piece together that since most posters are from here, that people will defend it even though they complain about some aspects of life here.

Really groundbreaking stuff.

The place you live is just like your religion, you're supposed to stick with the one you were born into even if it won't let you have sex with other races. Just the way things are.

It probably helps if you aren't a poor.

After a rather long weekend, a nice ice cold beer while I check the garden is better than passable.

It's damned near divine.

Proximity to family and friends, and cheap cost of living. Those two were our main deciding factors. If we moved away, we felt like the majority of our vacation time would be spent traveling back to Louisiana to visit family. Now that we're going to buy here in Louisiana, we'll have plenty of spending cash to go towards vacations that we can take wherever we want.

The weather is god awful, though. To whoever said it's only hot 3-4 months, I think it's more like 5 months minimum.

Jan - Mid march = too cold
Mid march - June = too wet
June - late October = too hot

November- December = just right
