Why live in Louisiana?

Recently moved back due to young kids. This place is depressing and too damn hot. Already regretting it.
Why would someone live here by choice?

The main reason is because I was born and raised here and this is where all my family is. Other than that, there is probably no other reason I would choose to move here other than a job.

Meh. I was born/raised in LA. There is lots to love about the state. I would move back if there were better public schools for my kids. Don't want to send them to private schools. I went to private school growing up and hated it. I don't want that for them.

You can choose to live anywhere. I choose to live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast because I love the location and the people. It's quiet and laid back but if I want to get away I10 is right here

It was a very tough decision due to family and friends being here. My frustration is centered around the weather and lack of funds in this state that shows itself in so many ways.

It's hot for 3-4 months out of the year and then the weather is damn near perfect. News flash, it's pretty damn hot in most of the US this time of year.
I moved back for a career opportunity I had and am able to be closer to friends and some family.

Born and raised here is the reason but family and friends are becoming less and less of a reason to stay with all the negatives piling up.
I can see why someone would not want to live in La because basically Louisiana people are trashy as hell! Schools are terrible, and politicians are more corrupt! (If that was even possible)
Every where else I travel too is basically cleaner than Louisiana.
Now the good. Where else can go for a weekend and catch a few dozen crabs, catch then fry some fish(reds, specs, bass,etc) kill some ducks, Catch a few frogs, well you get the hint. That plus Louisiana people are usually the most fun group of people around just ask anyone who tailgates with LSU fans.
That is all I have!
