I don’t see how an overextended chaotic dictatorship with no boats somehow defeats a global empire that requires “boats” to beat? Yall are watching too much Red Dawn Cod shite. The British empire had 6x the population of Nazi Germany so yall need to quit sniffing glue.

WW1 Germany was not defeated as much as their allies began to crumble around them.

That relatively small country's ability to wage war in the 20th century is one of the marvels of world history.

There was no chance of WW2 Germany winning after the British decided to fight until the end but WW1 Germany had a chances at least.

The US was neutral at the beginning. If it had stayed neutral Germany's chances would have been much better.

England probably could have never invaded France, and certainly could not have pushed the Germans back to Germany. Russia would probably have stalled the German advance just like they did at Stalingrad, but after that the war would have been different.

Remember, the US paid a lot of the cost for Russia and England to fight Germany, and supplied a tremendous amount of resources.

England couldn’t invade the continent after the battle of London, but they damn sure had the time and resources to do so later.

The world would have been a much better place if Germany had won WWI before the USA got involved.

Germany wasn’t massively bankrupt during ww1 as compared to the other participants owning money to the bankers

The treaty of Versailles changed that drastically

Then ww2 resulted in the UK owning the US loads of money that they recently paid off along with both axis and allied powers relied on the same group of bankers for ww2

Been to where he died
And I've stood on the exact spot on the sidewalk in Sarajevo, Bosnia where Gavrilo fired his pistol into Archduke Franz Ferdinand's car, mortally wounding him, on June 28, 1914.

WWI Germany was a rational actor trying to defend allies against aggression from their powerful neighbors.

WWII Germany was attempting to exterminate entire races of people and remake the world.

notwithstanding the USSR being on the side of the Allies

The USSR was at least every bit as evil as the national socialists.

That was quite literally his ultimate goal and the whole reason for rearming Germany in the first place.

Interestingly enough, both Stalin and Hitler considered Roosevelt to be a "fellow traveler" of the socialist stripe in the 1930's. Some of Roosevelts early writings were required reading in the Hitler Youth.

To grizzlylongcut's point, when the USSR and Germany divided up Poland, things were so bad on the USSR side of the line that Jews were actually fleeing to the German-controlled part of Poland. For safety. Imagine that.

Claims of significant Jewish flight to German-occupied Poland are simply not true. Hundreds of thousands of Polish citizens, to include 300,000 Jews, fled Nazi-occupied Poland and into the Soviet zone of occupation. While conditions were harsh in the Soviet zone, only 65,000 Jewish refugees at most returned to the German zone of occupation when given a chance to by the Soviet Union.

He was just the fuse to a landmine that had been waiting to go off since the 1870 Franco-Prussian war. Germany was making its bid to be the big swinging dick in Europe, and Britain and France were like Nah Fam. Meanwhile the Austro-Hungarian, Ottoman and Russian empires were crumbling in real time. There was going to be a general European war and it's sort of miraculous that it didn't start a couple of decades earlier.
