They can't get unemployment if they leave their job voluntarily.

OT worker unemployment $200 per hour, but since they don’t have to work for that then they can’t collect. Pop another bottle of DP and keep going.

And there it is...... Texas.................Louisiana. we are dead last in unemployment payouts and have been for years

I'm confused...is Louisiana last this time? Or first?

Paying people $50K/year to sit home doesn't seem very smart to me. It could be creating a problem bigger than it is trying to solve.

Is the 600 dollars requirement different from normal unemployment? You cant quit a job and get unemployment.

Hope i’m wrong, but boy did the Democrats outnegotiate the Republicans. Work ethic and pride aside, a large part of the population will choose to sit at home due to making more money that way. Democrats really took advantage of the crisis. I’m very disappointed in DJT. Not often I say that.

This isn't how it works.

None of y'all's concerns is how it works.

Actually, if you leave because you weren't getting enough hours or weren't getting the hours agreed upon then you can, at least here you can.

I could be totally wrong, but I thought I had read that the unemployment amount won't exceed what your income was?

But that's not the same as what many in this thread are claiming ("choosing" to stay home). A vast reduction in hours is basically being let go - not "choosing" to sit at home.

That's true.

You can't just say "Well, hmm... I can make more if I sit at home. I'm going home." and then try to collect Unemployment.

If your boss says "Sorry, but I got to cut you back to one day a week", then you can say "Well, that won't work."
