I'm not negative about it. I love Louisiana and I love raising my family here. I love the food and the warm weather, I love taking my boat out and fishing. I love LSU and am thankful that I was fortunate to go get in there and get an education that affords me the privilege to provide for my family. I really love the people and my family here and really have no desire to live anywhere else.

Keep getting sucked back in...

I think the number of posts is because so many people who leave have no idea how bad it is until theyve been somewhere functional. It’s shocking. And then when you go back to visit you realize it’s even worse than you remembered.

Usually it’s posts like “Finally got out of LA” or “Should I take this job offer in Dallas?” as if LA has been holding these brainiacs hostage

no

most of them are complaints about traffic on the bridge, black politicians, crime, schools, infrastructure, white trash neighbors or Coach O

I bet most of the posters now living in Texas have crossed that bridge many multiples of times more than I have in the past 10 years

Imagine bringing up black politicians as a burn when most of your city is represented by Sheila Jackson Lee

sheila jackson lee reminds me of Louisiana. The difference is she’s an anomaly. In Louisiana she’s the norm

Louisiana is a state, not a city. What other state has been 50 for the last three years? As a public university, LSU is pretty good and outshines every other in Louisiana, hence the flagship status. I don't know what venom your spewing about LSU.

Because there is absolutely no way things are going to change for the better there for a long time, if ever.

1. Because it could be so much better

2. The shittiness is a direct reflection of the people in power, who are elected by the people themselves.

People are probably trying to point it out to actually make people realize that is could be better and to do something about it.

Louisiana is the Guatemala of the SE US. I’m worried that one day TX will build that Wall.

Louisiana has been a shithole since 1812...after 200 years the only thing to do about it is leave...if you’re ambulatory and have marketable skills.

I would move back in a heartbeat except for two small details: 1) I can’t leave my job in DC; and, 2)My wife doesn’t want to live there.
