Proposed Artemis Lunar Module on right.
Apollo
I'm disappointed about the lack of gold foil for the Artemis Lunar Module.

Astronauts are taller these days.

I'm guessing that it's bigger so that they can have extended mission duration and a higher payload capacity for bringing back scientific samples and such.

Apollo is the god of the sun, so gold .
Artemis is goddess of the moon, so less gold.

DEI initiatives. They'll soon be sending ugly, fat A$$ entitled women that'll demand more room for them, much more junk food storage, bigger toilets, handicapped stickers, and Cadillac Escalade size seats they used to sitting in...

Because of new technology would be my guess. Rockets today can handle much bigger payloads.

You actually believe that gold-foil covered trash can actually landed on the moon?

Went to the traveling Smithsonian exhibit 20+ years ago. The capsule itself was the proverbial tuna can, a 1976 Datsun had more interior room.
It’s ironic, that those astronauts, whom all passed the psychological exams with flying colors, yet were willing to be shot into space after getting into one, should have been a red flag.

Its all wasted money as we aren’t going back to the moon in our lifetimes. These missions will be canceled when the whole cost gets tallied. Bank on it.

because of CGI and improved movie set construction techniques

Keeping up with the Jonesea. Everyone wants a bigger McModule.

Probably because we are actually going to the moon.

We are supposed to be back on the moon with the help of Elon by the middle of 2027. I asked Grok to put together a table of the Artemis events:

The Apollo astronauts were real men and didn't need all the luxuries of modern Millennial space tourists.
