From my readings, i have gathered USA and Canada were extension colonies while Spain extracted most of the resources and left a shitshow in their colonies

Wide spread corruption from base level to the highest levels of government is one reason.

Mexicans and Central American citizens have more restrictions on arming themselves so the government is not concerned about them opposing tyranny.

Absolutely. It’s a shame that we took Panama from them to create the Canal. The Colombians are far more favorable as a government and a partner than the Panamanians ever will be.
It’s also a shame that we gave the Canal away just because the UK gave the Suez Canal to Egypt. Thanks Jimmy
