We will never do the big things right if we can't do the small things right.
But this is an example of doing little things right. The school made the wrong call and it was corrected.

So they should just let the people they supervise make the wrong decisions?
1) How do you know it's a "wrong" decision? Just because someone may not agree with it, doesn't mean it's wrong.
2) If people are making the wrong decisions, maybe they need to be replaced.

how do you know this was the wrong call?
This is overbearing by a bunch of political appointee tards.

Because I have a functioning brain. It doesn't take a rocket surgery doctor to figure out this game is going to have a major impact on the student body and faculty.

Maybe they will be. How do you know? But do you want people replaced based on one decision? Pretty easy to see you don't manage anything

Actually, the opposite.
I work in a place where when I make managerial decisions, if the senior partners don't agree with them, we discuss them. they NEVER go over my head and tell my reports, hey, your direct manager was wrong, here is what we are doing.

Of course, like every OT poster in history. Sure hope you are more rational at your actual job

How do you know this didn't happen?
This is such a weird thing to melt about
The only logical conclusion is that it's because you're a Houston transplant that has to shite all over LA every chance he gets to justify hid decision to leave.

There currently isn't a President of the University to make the decision. F King Alexander is already gone. There is an acting/interim person but until the BOS hires someone they make the calls. Not only is the Championship game Monday, it's the same day that JBE is sworn in to serve as governor another 4 years. JBE's appointees now control the BOS, that's why Alleva and F King were shown the door.

Again, actually the opposite. I'm from LA, moved to Houston, moved back. And I've seen what good government and good management looks like.

Well, there was a vote at the BOS today. So clearly, they went over the school admin's heads.
Otherwise,
1) The school admin would have announced the decision
or
2) The announcement today would have discussed firing the school admins for insubordination.

That's the opposite of how effective organizations operate. No surprise though.

are you a freshman or a sophomore this year?

I don't think it requires the BOS, but I think it's the prerogative of the BOS if it wishes to. Everyone involved with the university ultimately answers to the BOS. If F. King didn't want to cancel classes, the BOS sure as hell did.
ETA: Any student worth a damn didn't care or need either entity's permission to get blind drunk Monday night and piss off on Tuesday's classes, though.
Spot on.
Also, King can eat a bag of dicks.

Again, actually the opposite. I'm from LA, moved to Houston, moved back.

Because they just authorized a two day paid vacation for 20,000 state employees. Has nothing to do with students and classes

The State Constitution grants authority to the Board of Supervisors because it is state funded.
If you you don't like it....go to a Private University.
If the board were to regularly meddle such as this a school could lose accreditation.
Yes, this is AMAZINGLY minor but the BOS still shouldn't be doing it because they are only doing it to make political points. You let the Administration handle it, which they would. The BOS just wanted to look important.

but that's Harvard's decision to make, not a bunch of appointed political people.

No, they are supposed to provide guidance but NOT make decisions. SACS investigations puts schools on probation that do otherwise. No, not on stuff this minor but things done with the process of the Board making the decision.

I'm more intelligent than most of JBE's and Jindal's political appointees on the BOS.

How do they handle it when the school closes for a storm?

I'm glad there is one other intelligent adult in this discussion.
