How is it a troll to say Market Square is better than anything BR has?

I was in BR for several years and Knoxville for a weekend. I stayed in a not so nice part of Knoxville and it felt a lot like BR.

South and East Knoxville have some shithole areas.

West and North Knoxville have some nice areas, especially west Knoxville (Farragut and Bearden area).

Having experienced both for quite some time, Id say that the shithole areas are more isolated and consolidated in Knoxville than in BR. Downtown Knoxville is definitely safer and less trashy than BR.

Plus 4 season climate, and proximity to smokies wins out. Surrounding cities are much better as well like Maryville and Oak Ridge.

ETA: Forgot to mention demographics. Its a factor as well.

When the answer to your op is so blatantly obvious to anyone with a pulse, it's a bad troll.

How is it a troll to say BR could have a similar setup to Knoxville?

That's pretty good. One of the more accurate summaries I've seen on here of Knoxville.

Then your survival skills are finely honed.

The Knoxville that most people see is nicer than the Baton Rouge most people see. There ARE parts of both that should be avoided by tourists. Baton Rouge has many more acres of said areas though.

Fewer Democrats

Knox County is red as hell for a county containing a fairly "large" city. They elected a red pilled ex-WWE star to be their literal mayor.

Knoxville is not perfect, but overall it is such an underrated city imo. If you are raising a family you could do a lot worse than settling down in a place like Knoxville. My only fear is the secret gets out to the masses and it one day becomes too big of a city, thus potentially opening the door to a larger presence of Democrat BS governance within that city.

Both Market Square and Gay Street are both very charming set ups. The surrounding aesthetics the East TN scenery provides as a backdrop is the cherry on top.

Is it the demographics?

Yes. Next question. Tennesseans also take more pride in the natural landscape of their state. Having lived in both for a long time there is a marked difference. I am shocked at how trashy and ghetto Shreveport is every time I go home to visit family. But Louisiana was trashy fifty years ago when I was a kid. It’s just exponentially trashy now because Americans in general are trashier.

At most it's cleaner they both seem like shite holes compared to the rest of America.
