I have no problem discussing my beliefs with people that can argue rationally and logically.
People generally like to believe this of themselves, but I find it is rarely true. Instead, they simply lable those who disagree as irrational and illogical to maintain the farce.

Not at all. It is, however, vastly a product of the left at this point.

Only because they have the power to do so.

What would you like to discuss? And I would offer up that some things aren't worth discussing because you can't change people's thoughts on certain things. Like the existence of God, there is no way to prove or disprove certifiably. Someone either has a soul or dosen't.

The irony.

In my experience leftist are far more likely to resort to name calling in their arguements. Just look at the way social media works and how we rush to label anyone not in line with liberal thinking as a racist, sexist, homophobe, etc.

This hasn’t always been the case historically. But the meme of the crazy right winger standing at the corner telling everyone they are going to hell just hardly exists anymore. Conservative people that make baseless claims are slaughtered, yet we applaud liberal people for doing so.

I hate to speak in generalizations because I’ve personally had quality discussions with left leaning people that have never degenerated into name calling and there are plenty of people with convictions that just look at the world differently than i do. And that’s fine and those are the people that drive true compromise that make us all better off.

As for Pres Trump, I think you’re dealing with someone that understands the media probably better than they understand themselves. The old tricks don’t work on him. In fact, those tricks MADE Trump into the Trump we know today. Here’s a guy that’s spent 30 or so years at the center of the tabloid media. He’s built a persona around that coverage.

Previous GOP politicians would wilt at the sight of sensationalist coverage from the media. Yet Trump doesn’t care. They can’t affect him. He tweets absurd things and then watches the media squirm.

It’s like Vince McMahon the CEO of WWE is not the same person as Mr McMahon the character he plays on Raw. Boardroom Trump is not the same person you see spouting off nonsense on Twitter.

I bitch about them because they need/deserve it the most. Doesn't mean others haven't shouted down others.

So yes, the left oppresses, and by the widest of margins. The left is obsessed with taking power, then using that power to prevent opposition. They certainly have the power/control of the media, education, and entertainment.

The Christian culture is based upon fairy tales. To shore up the bible tales, you are traditionally required to take it all on faith. Once the underpinning is faith, there is a taboo against an honest consideration of the model.

In such a culture. Education is held in disrepute so as to undermine thinking about the notions in the bible, and jokes are used against political opponents with great educations as egg heads.

Family identification prevents an honest evaluation of politics, religion or maybe even the team you root for.

For a lot of people, leaving the model dad and grandma live in is impossible. So they raise their kids in the same make believe model.

One of my uncles was disinherited. His mother shunned him. He had married a catholic. His grandfather was an orthodox rabbi.
