Why is it an obsession to have a cigarette right after you eat?

A smoke after a big meal seems disgusting(any cigarette is disgusting).
But I certainly enjoy a dip after a big meal. And plenty people find that equally disgusting.

I don't know why but it's satisfying as hell.
The hardest times for me when I quit were after a meal, driving, or drinking. It's been over 10 years and I still crave a cigarette just about every time I exit a restaurant.

American stupidity is to either smoke so much that the laxative effect doesn't even work anymore, or not smoke at all and thus have no chance to experience that effect.

because smokers are addicted to the taste of tobacco so anything they do to add a different flavor in their mouth like eating or sex must be immediately followed by a cigarette to return to tasting nothing but tobacco again
