I do not understand. You have to be borderline illiterate to not graduate HS. Why is this treated like some of huge event? Hell, I graduated college three times and didn't even attend any of mine much less publicize it like I was getting married.
Yep, I typoed the key word. Not a good look.

For many, it’s the first glimpse of freedom to do what you want when you want. Some can handle that and some can’t.
It’s also one of the last times you’ll ever spend with many of the kids you basically grew up, so there’s a sentimental element to it as well.

For about half, that’s the pinnacle of their education attainment.
Only about 35 percent will get a 4-year degree. Around 15 percent will get a technical or associates degree.

Stop thinking about it as an educational achievement

I do get what you are saying. It’s fairly easy to get through highschool. Basically as long as you show up and just continue breathing, the school is gonna find a way to get you through

Most of the people doing the bullshite at the graduation aren’t ever leaving adolescence.
This includes the idiots dancing and momma and grandma acting a fool with air horns.

Probably, for most people, it will be the most significant experience of their life. Not everyone is able, scholastically or otherwise, to attend post-secondary education.
