Creed fricking sucks.
I hated them from 2000-03 or whenever they were relevant.
Now I work with Gen Z frickfaces that legitimately love Creed because their a-hole parents in the 2000s listened to them. So now I have to hear Creed all over again, 25 years later.

I went from 60's and 70's rock to grunge. I have some 80's albums like Rush, AC/DC, The Cars, Journey, Foreigner, The Police, R.E.M., but didn't really like a lot of the New Wave bands, with effeminate band members. I was glad when grunge came along. They rocked really hard again and brought bad hair and tee shirts back.

Had no idea. That’s wild.
Would love to delve into why.

I don't know "why" it happened, but it did.
Ten was successful worldwide
but Nevermind was an absolute Global Phenomenon

Eddie Vedder and Pearl Jam were made for their time. It was a whole scene that's hard to describe unless you were old enough to have lived it.
I finally got to see Pearl Jam at Tad Gormley stadium in September 1995. I was a freshman at LSU, and just starting my adult life. Hearing Yellow Ledbetter brings me back to that field to this day - 2nd encore, standing there all muddy. A core memory of my life.

I was never a big PJ fan, but I received my first CD player (a Sony Discman) and a copy of Vs. for my 15th birthday, which was the only CD I had for a few weeks, and that one is an absolute classic. I also thought Ten was ok, but never really cared for them after those.
I was at the record store the day VS came out. Bought it on vinyl. I was 23.
Loved the first two records (like you, I never thought anything after that was worth listening to).
But now listening at age 55, I don't think even those first two records were worth listening to.
I have no problem with the band, but Vedder was just so insufferably full of faux-earnest angst. A lot of the popular bands around that time period were, but that guy was the king of being overdramatic.

Like what? I’ve backed it up with stats and data about sales while fanboys cart on and on about how great music they clearly like is. Boners taking quips and filling in 20 words in a sweeping assumption that claims I said things I didn’t.
