Is it lack of education

A lack of a culture that values education is the correct answer. The education is free for the taking.

Lack of pride. Nobody wants to clean things up. They’d rather just build new things in Walker or Ascension. That’s not only how Br is, that’s a problem all over the state. Instead of tearing down run down things and building in the same location they just leave the run down thing there and build new in a suburb.

When a lot of your population has never worked to achieve anything, they have no pride in the good things. They don't take care of anything they have and expect somebody else to take care of the mess they made.

Baton Rouge is only 3.5% Hispanic? That seems surprising to me, but I don't go to BR often and it's been about 5-6 years
