Depends on who it favors. If Sterling, before. If BRPD, most likely never but in the event it does, it's been "edited in Photoshop."

I was unaware there was video footage from the store. One of the articles I read said the security cameras did not function at the store.

DA recused himself due to a long term friendship with one of the officers parents. This will be a kangaroo court clusterfrick.

The Feds did not want the Ferguson police to release the convenient store video of Michael Brown robbing the store, but the Ferguson police released it anyway...a week after the shooting:

LINK

quote:

The Department of Justice urged Ferguson police not to release surveillance video purporting to show Michael Brown robbing a store shortly before he was shot and killed by police, arguing the footage would further inflame tensions in the St. Louis suburb that saw rioting and civil unrest in the wake of the teenager’s death.

But on Friday, police released the video that stoked outrage in Ferguson, with Brown’s family calling it “character assassination” and a smear campaign. A law enforcement source told NBC News that Ferguson police wanted to release the video Thursday, but the Department of Justice convinced them to withhold the footage over fears it would spark further unrest.

After the officers are cleared or during the trial. If he was indeed caught on camera with a gun it's going to be a key piece of evidence.

Actually Hillar Moore or whatever his name is, our DA, felt it wouldn't be a fair trail with him going forward with it being that he was friends with one of the officers parents/family. So not sure who will be in charge now.

Not only is there footage from the store, there is also footage and audio from the body cameras.

As for if the footage from the store worked or not, I'm sure there's a lot of other footage (unless erased daily by the owner) of Sterling outside selling CDs or whatever was going on. Personally I think the owner may have been getting a cut of the money Sterling made from "CD's" or he felt threatened so he allowed him to do it. Something is very shady with this owner. He's suing everyone and their mom lol. Got nothing to hide my arse.

Much later if ever because the rabble rouser masses aren't going to like what is on the videos. As was said in iRobot, you are asking the right questions.

Interesting... makes me wonder why it hasn't been released. Unless part of the issue is something like what Chicken posted. Now that it is out of the hands of the locals they do not want to release the footage due to the outrage.

i seem to think that if the video is in favor of the cops it would've been shown already...

So i'm thinking it doesn't show the cops in a good light so it's being kept under wraps for now

i think the store video is showing much more than what happened with that case. which is why the store owner is being proactive with the lawsuit.

also, the bodycams footage and the store footage is all in the feds hands now so locals can't release it.

there was definitely body cam footage before the tussle.

Unless it does and the Feds do not want to realise it because it will start more protest/riots.... similar to what Chicken quoted earlier.

this is an open and shut case when you look at the facts surrounding and not just the video.

I also thought the MN thing was open and shut against the police officer but I'm waiting to see what the facts are. I just wish they would point out that he was not a "white" officer.

The owner of the store erased the tape. He didn't want it getting out and his store being turned into a Baltimore CVS

See I honestly don't understand this, if it showed the cops in a good light then why not release it immediately to try and get ahead of the story BEFORE everyone starts making assumptions?

If the audio from the body cams showed that the police showed up screaming and escalating, then it looks like they wanted a struggle and it might cause more unrest. But if it showed them being reasonable and professional then I would think it would cause less unrest.

So why not release it unless it paints the cops in a bad light?

feds will take somewhere between 4-6 months to investigate before rendering a decision to prosecute or not.
