Bc of shitty drivers?

People trying to merge onto a 65-70 mph interstate going 40 in the merge lane.

General public is incredibly stupid

There was a trucker on reddit that had a sweet PS4 setup in his back cab. Also, reddit taught me about lot lizards? Am I using the correct term?

people merging onto an interstate at 35 mph when they've spent the entire time on the 1/2 mile ramp playing on their phones

one of life's great mysteries.

Because out here we have more people trying to use the interstate than we have miles of roads. And people out here are fricking morons.
It’s raining this morning. That means I will take surface streets to work. No way I’m getting anywhere near the interstate. They can’t drive when it’s warm and dry, they sure as shite can’t drive when it’s raining.

On I-65 south of Birmingham, they are adding lanes. There are multiple signs up along the interstate, before and during the contruction, that say "Trucks use left lane". 50% do, the other 50% don't, so you end up with tractor trailers using both lanes.
People absolutely, do not know how to merge. The on ramp is designed to build up speed to match or exceed the interstate traffic. More often than not, drivers are braking on the ramp, instead of accelerating.
I am convinced that "culcha" includes teaching your kids to hold the left lane, and only get in the right lane when your exit is 100 feet away.

Because one tractor trailer gets in the left lane of a 2 lane interstate and tries to pass another trucker and ends up riding side by side for 20 miles at 45 mph
This shite all the way to and from Phoenix 2 weeks ago. 3-5 trucks in line and the one at the back had to pass all the others. Traffic in both lanes backed up behind them doing 40.

I've got a Xbone, but nothing extravagant because I'm a company driver- just a travel case lined with memory foam and a hdmi cable to the back of a 19" flat screen.
Lizards aren't as big of a problem as they were a decade ago - but they're starting to show up again now that craigslist and backpage got shut down.

In my experience, most traffic jams can be attributed to one a-hole

Tons of people merging at bottle necks. Pretty simple really.

It only takes one a-hole slamming on his brakes to get an entire feedback started.
Other times, when the interstate drops a lane, you can experience traffic jams with all the traffic merging.

Congestion, accidents, tickets, gawkers, police, construction just to name a few.
Get a couple of those at once and it can back up for miles.

This is we here I'll also throw in that approx half of the ramps in urban and suburban areas need to be closed. Interstates weren't supposed to be used for people to get on i12 at Sherwood and off at Airline.

There was a similar video posted a while back on here that showed how a single driver that taps their brakes and the domino effect it had bringing traffic to a dead stop.
The second reason is 18 wheelers. Especially, when they move out of the right lane to allow oncoming traffic to merge onto the interstate.

you mean when they do what you're supposed to do?
there are some bad 18 wheeler drivers, but in my experience most of them are the best on the road out of anyone.
the worst are people who think the left lane is a cruise at the speed limit lane, which causes people to use other lanes to pass them, which disrupts the flow of traffic.
