Hopefully after reading through this thread you now understand that this will never be possible.
It's just no longer human nature, if it ever was. (And I have my doubts)

I never knew we had so many blm supporters on this forum. If you can't corelate the police shootings to blm you are really stupid or just a proponent of blm. Good Lord what a bunch of retards!

Just my two cents, but I cant understand how there is still so much arguing and fighting amongst everyone, even those who have chosen to be on the same sides. Everyone is angry, and worse after yesterday but look where it has gotten us. It's time to get off social media, get off the internet, and get on our knees. Otherwise we are going to be raising our kids in a war zone.

I would find a safer spot to live, work and educate them which (I realize) in the micro does no good to solve the general issue but I'm not willing to compromise their safety.

I agree. He's not talking about abolishing the police or anything like that. The BLM movement ain't slowing down soon and they will rear their heads again with the next justified shooting. A dialogue, ongoing dialogue, with heavy media coverage, is a good start. One thing for sure, the "FU BLM" mantra is definitely not going to make things better. Chief is being rational.

Facts don't matter to some people.
A black man was killed by police. We all saw the video of a part of that incident. No investigation results have come out. But an awful lot of black people decided immediately that the police were wrong and that it was racially motivated. Police were judged guilty by a lot of people with no real consideration of facts. Did the police over react? Was the killing somehow justified? Some people don't care about the facts.
A protest was organized by a group that has become notorious for seeking the killing of police. Then, within a few days, police are ambushed and at least three killed. Some people connect those dots and say that BLM was a cause of the shooting. Probably not directly, but based on their conduct it is a reasonable question. But no facts yet.
Perhaps the answer is for our leaders to ask us to remain calm, to suggest that we let the system work, and for the media to not glamorize people who seek to sow anger and discontent. But you can't demand an action and then deny that you were seeking that action after it happens and people become outraged.
It would be better for all of us to find the truth before we act, but I think that ship sailed a long time ago. Now people just act on their own fear and mistrust, truth be damned.

Talking won't change hate and the mindset.
Serious question: what does?
The honest answer? It will offend some that post here, but this is the absolute truth. If the BLM leadership came public, and announced that ALL lives matter, and that they would change their cause to ALM, and would like to sit down with whites, as well as LEO, and unite so that the country could unite.
It's that simple. Think about it, if BLM would simply publicly state that every single life is equal, black, white, hispanic, etc. And that they wanted unity, and not divisiveness. And that they strongly condemned the killing of any LEO, past and future. Immediately, the hate mindset from BOTH sides would mostly dissipate. And what would be left would be the fringes of each group, white and black.
And those fringes, both white and black, would be shouted down and crushed by the unified majority of all races that believe all lives matter equally. And the majority would remain unified as AMERICANS, not races.
It's so simple. But so many would much rather cling to their hate, because they would rather be elevated above others. And prefer to divide themselves away from society and facilitate more killing.

I don't even care if they say ALL Lives Matter. I just want them to address black culture and change it drastically. Basically, they need to start saying ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER.

IMO, as soon as you start throwing a specific race in your movement, you are dividing. Period. It may not be right that it's that way, but it is that way.
If none of what has happened in the last month had happened, I would agree with you. But now? Someone from the BLM leadership needs to say, "enough". We are all one. We are all people. We are all Americans. We want to be heard. We need someone to listen to our fears and concerns. But we acknowledge that the murder of innocent LEO is abhorrent. The murder of all innocent Americans is abhorrent. And we want to stand in unity and stop the killing.
It's that simple. But I predict pride and self interest will stand in the way. There are many that would rather stay divided, so as to excuse their lot in life, and deflect responsibility onto someone else. That's just reality.

I understand that, but only black people can change black culture. White people or the government can't do it for them. That's why I don't mind if they have a movement specifically for black people. It doesn't mean they have to blame cops, blame government, blame white privilege, etc.
Posted on 7/18/16 at 8:36 am to SabiDojo
After the recent slaughtering of innocent blacks and whites, we'll have to agree to disagree. At one time, maybe all black lives matter as a mantra would have flown. But to the question as to how to fix what's currently going on between white and black America, and LEO? We disagree. No biggie.

Here's the litmus test:
"All Lives Matter".
Anyone who thinks that is a racist statement is twisted beyond help.
But let's be honest. It's not truly about "Black Lives Matter" or else these groups would be marching in the streets of Chicago, et al, demanding an end to the black on black violence that is a hundred times worse than these isolated police-involved shootings. No, it's just a front to inflame racism and hate.

100% agree.
And that's why I don't see the problem being resolved. A group that is formed as a front for racism and hate will never concede to include everyone and unite. It defeats their purpose.
That's what some of the posters here don't want to admit.
But as to the specific question in this thread, the answer is so simple. But there is one group that would prefer to divide, and accept the loss of innocent human life, than to concede to unity and stop the killing. And it's truly a shame.
