Why does North America not have a native primate besides Sasquatch?

Other continents have a variety of primate species, this continent only has one.

They all froze to death. There are remnants of North American Monkeys in the fossil record

Nor does Europe. Primates don't tend to live in cold or temperate regions. They live in tropics and savannas.

Probably something to do with the NA plate separating before primates migrated out of Africa. Us and our cousins are somewhat new to this planet.

Coiba Island howler, Mantled howler, Guatemalan black howler, Panamanian night howler, balckheaded spider monkey, Geoffroy's spider monkey, white-headed capuchin, Geoffroy's tamarin, and Central american squirrel monkey

As somebody else mentioned, primates tend to live in the tropics or Savannah regions. Have you ever considered why no matter where you go in the world the comfortable temperature for humans is around 70 degrees? We are basically tropical apes who were able to migrate, it is theorized that this was mainly due to the invention of the eyed needle.
