If you ain't going to do whatever it takes to get to the bacon, then you shouldn't have the bacon.

The cheap shite is literally 80% fat, and not the good kind.

I'm referring to the giant sections of fat that don't render down after any amount of cooking.

nope. if i'm spending $10/lb on bacon i'm going to grab some benton's.

come on dude.

The cost is much higher when you factor in I have to go somewhere else to buy that. Kroger does not have Benton's.

And Wright's is not much more expensive than other brands, its like $7.99 a pack. No clue how much Benton's is.

$9.99/lb

they sell it at practically every deli in town. farmer's market has it, the italian deli that has the fresh mozzarella on saturday mornings...pretty sure porter road butcher sells it..

its not hard to find once you know who has it.

eta i will say it does have a pretty heavy smoke flavor so much like coffee with chicory, i probably couldn't eat it every day.

My local owned grocery has the old school slab bacon on plastic tray wrapped in the saran wrap stuff. They package the fresh whole chickens the same way without that liquid brine shite. I occasionally get a chicken with a feather or two still on the wing.

Well CAD, that is an additional stop, which I will not do. I one stop grocery shop. Period.

The cost of time and gas to go somewhere else is definitely not worth and I don't think Benton's is that great anyway. Its good, but not worth an additional shopping trip.

My life is streamlined for maximum efficiency
