Why do women presume so much?

At the risk of being labeled a chauvinist, it's been my observation over the years that women, in general, presume much more than men. That is to say, they make comments that exclude the possibility that the other party may already have performed a certain task or already possess the knowledge relevant to that conversation. It's especially noticeable in the way they pose questions and their sentence structure. I find it highly insulting, especially when the offending party (the woman) is repeatedly reminded of this nasty habit yet persist in this style of conversation. Granted - men do it too, but I find that women do it far more often than men in similar circumstances. I understand the Mars vs Venus phenomenon but even considering the differences between the sexes, it still doesn't make sense.
