I don’t hate formula at all. I can’t stand that when there is a shortage, people who don’t really need it are taking it and people who have babies that actually need it are scrambling.

There was also a recall compounding the problem. I wonder when this govt contract was done because the manufacturer has to bear a little responsibility too.

Abbott showed the bacterial infections were not linked to their formula produced in that factory. They were cited for safety violations with the FDA, but this goes back months. I would think the corrective actions were taken by now. FDA refuses to allow them to restart, but is allowing them to distribute formula directly to mothers in need that are out of stock in the area.
It’s over 2 infant deaths related to bacteria, again Abbott showed they were not linked to their factory somehow. I don’t want any babies to die or be sick etc, but this is over 2 in the entire country. If only the bar were this high for medical interventions…
