Did you read my post? I'm not a anti seatbelt wearer. And I listed a reason. I don't need the government to protect me from myself.

When shite hits the fan, it's better if you can maintain at least some control of your vehicle. You can't do that if you are no longer in the driver's seat.

Umm. If you're in a situation where you'd otherwise be ejected, you already don't have any control of your vehicle.

Have you ever been in an accident? When you're involved in an accident where the impact is so severe it'll throw you out of the drivers seat if you're not wearing your seatbelt, you're not maintaining control of anything.

A minor accident can knock your head into the steering wheel of you're not wearing a seat belt.

I'm all for wearing seatbelts

Then how can you make the above statement? It's a pretty fair assumption you have no real world experience to back your claim up.

but the law was created for tax revenue. It should be your choice.

I know, right? That's why adults in public busses have to wear seatbelts.

I agree, that's why I wear a seat belt.

Because I believe in personal freedom. If an adult wants to risk their life its theirs to risk. I have more real world experience than I'd like to have.

That has nothing to do with the question

If your head is forced into the steering wheel you're not going to maintain control of your car. I thought that was obvious. So the impact would be strong enough where a seatbelt wouldn't matter.

As for school buses, the kids are actually safer without seatbelts.

That isnt how momentum works.

The seatbelt keeps that from happening.

You have no idea what you're talking about dude. Those 50-60 kids will be tossed all over the floor with mild to moderate injuries at least. But hey, at least they wont be stuck in their seats when they wake up from their concussions.

No one is an anti seatbelt wearer. It's dumb to not wear one, everyone gets that.
What's dumb is ticketing someone for not wearing one. If someone wants to be dumb enough to not wear one, that's their problem, same for helmets with a motorbike. Their actions by not wearing a seatbelt or helmet does not affect anyone else in the case of an accident, regardless of the silly bump your head on the steering wheel argument which makes no sense.
Let stupid people be stupid, as long as they aren't a potential threat to others around them.

But the seat belt isn't going to give you the ability to maintain control of your car in that scenario, which was your argument.

It would appear you've hit the steering wheel with your head many times.

The first sign of losing an argument is when one person retorts to insults.

I mean technically you can argue getting stuck in water, but it's idiotic not to wear a seatbelt.

That being said, screw the government for attempting to force it.

Because it's required that you wear them by law now.

Because police do not make the law....they enforce laws that the legislature and governor create.
