Why do some people feel the need to touch each other when they greet?

With the corona virus spreading, handshakes and even fist bumps are a no no.
Now I've seen people on tv touching elbows or feet.
That looks stoopid.
What's wrong with just nodding your head and saying hello?

I’ve eaten too much dirt as a kid and food off the floor to let some bullshite beerflu get me.
I’ve got enough antibodies to probably survive a zombie apocalypse plague.

I like to do a quick little korean bow to say hello, but no handshake.

Smart phones and social media have made you people so socially weird AF that even basic human interaction puzzles you now.
That’s how bad its gotten for some of you.

You seem to have no understanding of American culture, combined with a bit of irrational fear of germs.

A firm handshake is a good respectful way to greet one another. I find people that don’t to be weird. Why be scared of something like that, I can’t imagine going through life as a germaphobe, Has to be miserable
