Maybe not but I don’t sit on a pedestal and judge people when they are doing something still to better themselves.

They already think you are taking the shot since you lost a large amount of weight. I feel bad for the guy that actually loses a bunch of weight the old fashioned way and no one believes them.

I have no issue with people taking GLP-1 medication, but I've had this same thought a bunch of times about how much that must kinda suck for those who did it without assistance.

Some of those you don’t control, some you indirectly control and some you absolutely control. One, in particular, is your mindset. To just dismiss all of the above as out of one’s control wreaks of victim mindset. Low locus of control. Give yourself much more credit!

Thank you for the decent conversation! 100% about the victim mindset.

This is the conclusion that many come to, but push it one step further. Your mindset or locus of control is also created by influences. Your influences beyond your control made you the type of person to realize this, adopt and apply this, and some people might not have it. I can influence you, and you can influence me, and I can influence myself, but it’s variable from person to person, and some may be more agenetic than others. Those narrow margins of agency may even be like a muscle which can be exercise to a full potential, but those margins are still determined by something other than you.

Where you are finding freedom is in not knowing how you were influenced.

While I think everything is determined, we don’t know how, so we should live like we aren’t determined. This lets us maximize those margins of potential.

You said in another you weren't born yet when someone referenced 2002; you're a young man.

Mingo, please tell me you were that total gooner posting as MingTheBarbarian in all of the Louisiana subreddits. The circa 2002 message board comments, the wannabe internet tough guy persona, it's all there.

Healthcare costs affect everyone.

The same can be said for the person eating McDonalds every day. Their healthcare costs affect more than just them.

The masses eating a shitty diet is way down the list on reasons healthcare costs are high.

Complicit government
Tax incentives and breaks for Big Pharma
No price regulation in the US so consumers pay.
Administrative costs that come from all of the documentation that is done as well as a fragmented bureaucracy across the country - and that’s not including executive compensation which is outrageous

You have limited competition for healthcare coverage so that drives up costs and reduces your options

Liability issues which cause your doctor to order possibly unnecessary tests or procedures to limit the interaction with Gordon.

And yes chronic conditions due to a large portion of the US population eating an ultra processed diet-which has been shoved onto the population by the same people above just add a dozen more to the list.

I'm 95% sure u/MingTheBarbarian is Mingo. He's probably busy scrubbing the profile for any info that could be cross referenced. I don't care really and I'm going off of memory from ten years ago (around when he registered at TigerDroppings). It's EXACTLY the same schtick.

I started working out seriously a year ago. Until I spend a year in the gym and watch a lot of YouTube videos, I don’t think I realized how widespread steroid use is. There’s no way a lot of these dudes in my gym have gotten there naturally. And I say that is someone who’s trying to become a lean not big.

It's more common than most people think.

If I assume someone is taking that stuff, I don’t congratulate them for losing weight.

Take pill get result. It’s not an accomplishment.

Mingo, just curious. Do you feel the same way about TrT and birth control as you do GLP-1s?

I absolutely believe trt is way overprescribed. I don’t have an opinion on birth control as I’m not educated enough

So taking glp1 that allows or aids one to eat better bypasses the effort and discipline you want them to have to do it without the aid.

Allows or aids? As in effort and discipline are a function of GLP-1? Solely? For all of the people who are taking GLP-1? Cmon.

quote:

However, you support shame and humiliation as an acceptable aid, is that correct?

quote:

Why do so many people feel ashamed/lie about taking…

Shame appears to be a function of knowing that effort and discipline are not a sole function of GLP-1s.
