Why do so many people feel ashamed/lie about taking GLP-1's?

It seems the stigma is fading and I know a ton (no pun intended) of people that are on them...but why is it so hush hush and people talk about it like "don't tell anyone but I heard sally is on Ozempic."

It feels very much like when I was growing up and people would lie or gossip about someone who was seeing a mental health counselor.

It's all so weirdly taboo. I guess I don't understand because I'm not in a position to need the meds (yeah yeah blah blah subtle brag)

Because people are obsessed with their image and are clout chasers. They want people to think they did that shite on their own and congratulate them, when what really happened is they were forced to stop being a fatty because they injected a hormone into their body that restricts them from eating 10,000 calories a day.

Because they know they don’t actually need them, they just can’t even admit that to themselves, much less others

I brag about what they did for me, sitting at a computer 9 hours a day and dealing with life got me fattened up pretty good.

Zepbound, no alcohol, walking daily and lifting 2-3 times a week.

-70 lbs in 29 months

It was a long slow process

I don’t know anyone on a GLP-1. If they are, it’s not something that would come up in conversation.

That’s not a topic I care enough to talk about with others.

As you can see, there is some resentment that makes the topic more sensitive than it needs to be.

People used to judge others for meeting their SO online too.

Good for you but you would have had similar results without them due to your lifestyle changes.

Medicating the country hasn't really helped people be healthier.

It would be much better if you did things so you never need GLP 1.

Not say, we have glp 1, its okay to give yourself diabetes.

Or, hey frick whoever you want, you can just kill the baby. Now we have more single mothers than ever.

I try to fast from lunch till breakfast the next day, usually 18 hours or so, I don't think I could have done that without Zepbound killing my appetite.

Consider we pretty much have a weekly thread here where a fair amount of posters come in and shame the frick out of people on Ozempic or any of the GLPs, I'm sure that probably plays a part in it.

I mean the OT is pretty well known for bitching about people who are fat and then bitching about how they lose weight.

I fast roughly 16 hours every day and do 24 hour plus fasts all the time if I take a day off from training and don’t need to replenish. You could have easily done it if you chose to do so.

95%+ that take these drugs just have a defeatist attitude. That’s a fact, no matter how upset you all get about it

I guarantee that you do. Do you have anyone in your life that lost a shite ton of weight in a short amount of time, and now their face looks like it’s melting?

That’s that Ozempic baaaybeh.
