Why do so many elitists crap on the Dollar General

For po' folks living in the boonies, especially with gas prices these days, the Dollar General is a blessing.
Don't understand why so many elitists try to demonize the Dollar General. Prices are good, and it helps cut down on "food deserts," another elitist talking point. Dollar General has plenty of frozen vegetables with just as much nutrients as fresh vegetables if "access for fresh vegetables" is someone's big kick.
I would take a bullet for the Dollar General. I love that frigging place!!!!!

Love Dollar General. I know I can pick up snacks on the way hunting, fishing, hiking, etc. I know Ill pass several.

Most country folks do not need access to fresh vegetables, they grow them, that is why Dollar General does not carry them. Nothing wrong with Dollar General.

Are the prices really that much better? Even better than Walmart? I've been in a few and it always seems like they stock overstocks from other stores or off brand crap. The store are always a mess. I hate Walmart but I'd choose it over DG any day.

I don't hate DG, but they're successful because they fill a void with convenience store products in metal buildings at low overhead in an area where there isn't any competition
