He isn't affiliated but he always shows tons of love to LSU. He's written several articles on his experiences on campus (as a journalist covering cfb) and they are very very pro LSU.

He was the first national tv personality to talk about the Baton rouge floods in 2016. CNN hadn’t covered it, FOXNews was silent, even the local news stations in New Orleans barely mentioned it, but SVP did a story on it focusing on Jim hawthorne going missing for several days due to all of the cell service being out. SVP’s story likely was the impetus for all of the national news finally covering it.

I met him at a small wedding at NOLA lakefront airport. He’s got some connections around the area. Very nice guy. Not one of those split personalities between TV and real life.
