I’m from Metairie hoss. Do you know how pathetic you sound? Family that had this wedding owns about 30 dealerships in south LA and has for decades. Your dumbass was banned for 8 months and you come back and immediately start being a piece of shite because you can’t stand that some people don’t share the love for New Orleans that you do? What an odd flex.

These folks know about Commanders and maybe Arnauds as the example of the great Nola restaurants.
For the average Joe who post here, they wouldn’t recognize the names of many great places or would never think to even go to them because they aren’t located in the quarter.

And to point out, I’m not proclaiming my love for the city, just trying to show why so many people from all over the world who travel a shite ton might still visit Nola.

went to Pat Os after the reception. It was dead.

It’s always dead in July/August. It’s too damn hot and no one wants their trip canceled for a hurricane. This is the time of year where you have some trashy AL/MS folks drawn to the cheap rooms, but overall it’s always dead this time of year.

Oldmanbeasley loves Louisiana, but living all over the country it’s been eye opening how bottom of the barrel Louisiana is in so many basic things. Hopefully Louisiana will one day rise from the ashes.

Katrina did it a great favor, and it showed for years. It's been the last 6 or 7 years it's gone downhill.

Of course it is, but how many of your friends can name 10 or so other places that are as good or better? Because there are plenty out there.
And the average uneducated tourist can sure as shite name Oceania and Mothers as great spots to eat.

And there are probably 30 places I would think people attending a millionairs wedding would go out drinking other than Pat Os

New Orleans has a rich history and will always attract a lot of visitors because it's unlike any other city in America. Like myself, I love visiting the city but it's not a place I would want to live full time, but I also know others that would love to live around there.

I understand that as I grew up there. I was simply stating a fact. Nola is okay for a quick trip. It’s a beautiful city that is bogged down in crime and political bs with no sign of relief. It could be great, but the citizenry will never let it reach its potential

Of what? Being the largest slave market at one time in the US? That’s what 90% of New Orleans’ history revolves around

I wouldn’t disagree with any of that and plan to move away within 3-5 years.

The reception was 5 hours and Didn’t end until 1 am. We were tired and didn’t want to really do anything but some people wanted to go to the piano bar. My lord some of y’all think very high and mighty of yourselves
