Why??? This is one of the only times i will allow my kids to drink a coke.

This whole thread is stupid.

Plus...Wtf else am I going to mix with my brown drink?

I have a nurse friend that tried to say cokes aren't bad bc of the reaction of sugar with the acid in the drink?

Can a doctor confirm this?

Cokes are pretty bad for you. Per every sane doctor ever.

The acidity is bad for your teeth, but that is just cosmetic. The HFCS is awful for your digestion and metabolism.

The biggest health concern in our country, BY FAR, is our obesity epidemic. Sugary soft drinks are a step in the wrong direction to fight that.

But to each his own if you pay your own health insurance. I just wish welfare/food stamps/EBT couldn't pay for them.

ETA:

Having a soft drink every once in a while is not that bad for you. I'm more talking about the folks who have a raging addiction to them and drink several a day. I was a skinny kid and drank them all the time until I up and lost my sweet tooth in college.

I averaged about two per day until the age of about 35. I've cut back quite a bit in the past few years and now average about two per week.

I still like them and would drink more if the negative health factors were not so bad. With those new fountain machines, I enjoy the different combinations like vanilla root beer, vanilla coke, vanilla cherry coke, etc.

I also drink a few beers per week (and wine to lesser extent) but my all-time favorite drink is probably a Crown/coke or Crown/7. I feel like Frank the Tank when I have that first sip.

Warren Buffet drinks at least five Cokes a day, and he's been doing it for many decades. He also loves Oreos and all kinds of "unhealthy" crap. He's 85 y/o or so.

We were at Disney World last week and it was in the 90's on Thursday at the Animal kingdom and I had my first ice cold coke in over 4 years and it was glorious.

Its only refreshing when its fresh. as soon as the ice starts melting or it starts getting the slightest bit "cool" instead of cold, it gets sticky and not so wonderful. But when its right out of the fountain.... good lawd.

A. I said it makes you fat. That is why they're bad for you. If you prevent yourself from being fat, you know, by being a billionaire with every possible advantage, awesome.

B. Do you know what anecdotal evidence is? Because I can drive you to a local Logan's Roadhouse and show you 50 people that are fat as frick and drink 50 ounces of coke a day.

Been drinking cokes 3 or more times a day for over half a century. BP is fine, sugar is fine, heart hasn't given me any problems.

Good lord willing I'll croak getting a leg over one day. I'm sure there will be a coke in the fridge I had planned for after

Or by not being lazy

Just portraying how easy it'd be to not be fat if you're a billionaire

You've stated it, but you haven't "portrayed" it. What exactly do you think Warren Buffet has done to keep his weight down that is enabled by his being a billionaire?

LINK

quote:

Warren Buffett's $46 billion net worth makes him America's second-richest man. So while he certainly could afford multiple chefs, his own orange grove and all the Wheaties he wants, what does Buffett eat for breakfast? Ice cream.

LINK

quote:

He’ll even have a Coke with his breakfast, which — the morning of that particular interview — consisted of chocolate chip ice cream.

AFAICT, he eats what he wants because he can, and being a billionaire doesn't somehow compensate for his disgusting habits. It's genetic, like I told you.

Because I can and want too. You cannot and will not control what I put in my body. Worry about yourself and leave others alone.

If you're going to troll people, you can't just start a shite tread and run away. You have to at least come back and defend your position.
