"human" is a pretty broad scale. I think an average chimp whips an average man.
However, I think top of the scale human is higher than top of the scale chimp.
I think the dude who plays Gregor Clegane (2018 World's Strongest Man) could whip any chimp. He could crush a chimp's throat or twist its head off or slam it into the ground until it was dead. He wouldn't enjoy it--- he'd get bitten and ripped pretty good, but he would likely win in the end if motivated.
Not a gorilla, though. The Mountain goes down.
However, I think top of the scale human is higher than top of the scale chimp.

try googling "Moe the Chimp" or any other related chimp attacks. They maul you. They bite off fingers and hands. They make sure to bite off your balls, nose, and gouge your eyes out.

How do you get the chimps back (I presume that the be the safest place?)? Chimps move differently and are freaking acrobats. If you try and miss that back mount you are toast with either teeth, nails, bombs of both feet and hands.
Even if you get the back, can you hold it for long enough? Can the chimp get nails on you? can it grasp?
I think that once a chimp has you in it's grasp, an MMA fighter or the Mountain is in for a very very bad day.
