As gates open I can’t say I understand.

An hour early in seats is a little much but I roughly hop in line close to an hour before kick figuring 10-15 to get through and a few mins to grab a beer get to seats etc...

Sometimes it’s too early but other times lines drag and it’s nice to not worry about missing kickoff

I head for the entrance about 45-50 minutes before kickoff. When I was a pledge I had to be at the gates when they opened to save seats. This past Saturday I went in at noon because they said if you wait too late you will miss the kickoff. I hated it but I saw the kickoff.

Bc I like to go hang out in the Club and grab some food, drinks and visit with friends in the AC/Heat and watch what other games or pregame shows.

Pregame is one of the reasons actually going to a game holds value, it can be argued watching the actual game is better from a tv broadcast

Had saints season tickets since 1971. Since in the dome I walk in 2 hours prior, get the fresh batch of a good meal and a couple cold beers. Lots of pregame activities going on. Meet a couple friends etc. mainly because dome tailgating really Sux.

I love watching pregame. I like seeing the kickers/punters getting loose. I like watching the players come out on the field. I like watching the bands enter the stadium. It’s part of the excitement for me. The anticipation of the game continues to build.

And occasionally you catch some players smack talk and arguments start. Gets the the energy up.

I understand where the OP is coming from being he’s used to La Tech sports.

There no reason to show up early to any La Tech sporting event.

When I go to the games I have a routine. I like to get into the stadium 1 hr before kickoff. Get me a hot dog, my drink & some M&Ms.. Listen to the band, watch the teams warm up.. And sort of see all of pregame start to get ready.

Is that a problem?

Its a social event for a lot of people myself included. I always attend games with people I usually only see at the game, we like to hang out, and catch up with what everyone has been doing. If the only objective was seeing the game I would just stay home and watch it on TV.

Some people actually like to watch the teams warm up and the pre-game festivities from the band. But being a tech fan I can understand why you just walk in 3 minutes before kickoff.

A lot of stadiums still have bleacher/bench seats.

It may be assigned, but it still pays to get their first and fully claim your space.

I went to Tech. One should still get in early. OP is just a funless vagina face.

Nothing's more annoying than people who get to the stadium 5 minutes before kick-off, then try to find their seats while the game is being played inconveniencing everybody who's trying to watch. My Dad and I used to get to the games early and we would talk, read the program, and watch the teams warm up. It was fun.

Facts! There have been times when pregame is over and the game is about to start that I wish I could transport back to my house to watch it on TV... Its like you want to get the atmosphere and REALLY watch the game at the same time.

At Tech, I’m sure you can drive up 10-15 before kickoff with no traffic because there’s probably only 100 fans in the stadium. At SEC schools, try that and see how it works.
