Sometimes it's a twisted form of attention or even flirting. Men learn it as boys. Saying something nice, or possibly flirtatious, to a girl makes a boy feel very vulnerable and open to rejection. Something our male egos don't deal with very well at a young age. So the desire to have personal contact with a girl leaves us with only one option. So we pick on them. That way we get their attention, all the while keeping our guard up and leaving ourselves an exit strategy. Most men outgrow it but sometimes slip into that mode with grown women out of habit.

In the event that someone just needs to actually say it, I downvote lsunurse because she mentions her boyfriend/significant other in, literally, every post. It’s annoying. I don’t like or dislike her, it just annoys me that she mentions her boyfriend so often
