Why do people dip fine cut over long cut?

I dipped back in HS then started smoking cigs in college b/c I'm trashy. I quit all tobacco probably 5-6 years ago, early 30s, at least for the most part. I'll smoke a cigar occasionally during morning deer hunts. When I dipped it was long cut. Tried my first dip in a year or so the other day just out of curiosity, kind of made me feel like a teenager again, and it was fine cut. That shite was messy as hell, took me like 4 pinches to get a dip worth in my mouth. I asked my coworker why he chooses fine cut and he just shrugged his shoulders.

Long cut you can get a pinch in one grab, or maybe once you get use to it you can do that with fine cut also? I won't be dipping again anytime soon, I just never understood why people choose fine cut. FWIW it was wintergreen skoal fine cut, I forgot how bad heart burns hurt also, shite wore me out.

ETA: Sorry I accidentally posted this on the Coronavirus/Mask/BLM Board. Admin can move if needed.

Pouches are for kids. Long cut is for girls. Fine cut is for men.

It is messy as hell but I always like cope snuff more than long cut.

I quit many years ago and still have to fight the urge. Dont think itll ever go away. The stuff is definitely addicting as hell.

Fine cut is geared toward more masculine men.

Well the guy I got a dip from is a man, and in HS I was a girl, so that all makes sense.

I had a more difficult time quitting smoking. I even tried to quit smoking by going back to dip probably 8-9 years ago and it didn't work. I don't care much for either but once in a blue moon I'll smoke a cigar or bum a dip. If I were to smoke a cigarette right now, I'd be going to the store and buying a pack. Nothing beats a cig with morning coffee, or 10-12 cigs with several cups of coffee.

Started in high school at 15. Dipped Grizzly wintergreen and graduated to Cope wintergreen, always long cut. Was a can a day dipper. Quit at 28. Hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Still get cravings for it daily and even have dreams about it haha. Glad I quit, while I miss it, it sucks having to live for your next nicotine fix.

I quit younger than that but started about the same age, Copenhagen snuff from day one.

To this day it's hard for me to crank the tractor up without putting a pinch in first. Glad I've been able to kick the habit.

Fine cut is for folks that like to keep a little permanent nicotine stuck in their teeth

I quit 8 months ago. The cravings are terrible but all I have to do is smell someone smoking & I want to puke.
I bummed one Saturday & took a few drags, felt that urge to puke in the back of my throat the rest of the night.

I remember when Copenhagen came out with long cut in the mid/late 90's. It was the best thing ever for getting a dip while driving. That is when I made the change from fine to long cut.
