Or I can just get bread.
What does it fricking matter? If I am going to be without power for let's say... a day and a half.. I'd rather not use my gas stove to warm up canned goods because that generates heat and well.. It's mid July in South Louisiana.

Went to the store last night and noticed bread racks were empty, and even meat department was slim pickings (particularly ground meat), but canned items were fully stocked. Seems strange to me that something as perishable as bread, meat, and deli meat is what people would go for in lieu of canned products that are preserved and not reliant upon electricity. I guess bread isn’t, but if you’re making sandwiches then the deli meat or hamburger meat certainly is.

You don't need power to make sandwiches.

I can't believe people are this dumb.
You can eat peanut butter and honey/jelly sandwiches for days. Buy cold cuts and keep them in your ice chest.
How are people from here and ask this question?

Why do people who drink 6 dr. Peppers a day feel the need to buy 12 cases of water.

A loaf of bread easily last a week and longer if you don't lose power. Peanut butter sandwiches fill you up and are easy to make. I would eat those before hiking and they fuel you quite well.

Great time to try out the fasting fad, I'd say.

So they can still break bread if the store runs out.

I get cans of chef boyardee. Everyone loads up on spam, cold cuts and vienna sausage. If the power goes out, I’m eating ravioli bitches.

LMAO, I just did the same thing. I have no issue with cold Spaghetti O's.
I don't have "power outage food" at my house so I just went to get sandwich meat... but ended up with these bad boys instead. This blows a boring sandwich out of the water.
