I think the funnier suggestion would be that the being that created the entire universe was so pathetic as a designer that he was unable to come up with much variation is design among nearly all vertebrates. Honestly, it's embarrassing in terms of the lack of creativity. If my 11 year old was drawing creatures and I asked him to draw a bunch of different ones and he came back with that kind of lack of diversity in design, I'd tell him to start over and quit being so intellectually lazy.

Oh...you don't understand evolution at all, do you? Things fill niches, it's not a race towards a "better" version which leads to intelligence. Think of a shark. It's form is so proficient that it's been largely unchanged for hundreds of millions of years...because it works perfectly within its environment.

Yes, in that we share a common ancestor VERY VERY far back with all life on Earth. The more different we are from a particular group the further back, generally speaking, is the divergent point.

I don't think that is how we became human. We are just another animal. There use to be other types of humans (archaic humans like Neanderthals for example) and we evolved from them into what we are today. Through out intelligence we are able to continue to evolve..
