I know several wealthy guys in their late 70s who will gladly sit through a two hour sales pitch from a con artist just to get that free fried catfish dinner.

They are probably excited just to have something to do.

As an old man told me, "I do alot of stuff unnecessarily just to have something to do"

Sounds like someone was late to the party and didn't get any fried fish.

My late father and FIL would both be 97. They never ever wasted anything. And they never bought nonsensical things. They respected every penny.
