Have you ever watched the cable sport channel called ESPN?

If not, have you ever watched an LSU football game on TV?

Who gives a ratsazz what some Yankee red neck outsider thinks. Hell, you choice of "weagle" is enough to tell me you have no taste whatsoever.

A tree where indians cleaned game on bank of Mississippi River became known as red stick due to blood on it. The french took over the area. Their pronunciation of stick is baton (bah-touwn or ba-touwn). Without looking this up I want to say it was actually France controlled, not Cajun.

Of course red = rouge hence Bah-touwn Rouge is just as correct as any version of Baton Rouge.

I don't think anyone, especially outsiders should piss and moan about any version we choose and that would include Red Stick.

Since I have a touch of Cajun blood coursing through my veins, the rest being American Indian and African American (eat yer heart out StrongSafety) and raised in the area I'll call it what my little heart desires. That would include Batun Ruugu so all you smartasses can fukoff.

Why do the brothers pronounce it "baton Ruuuuuuuge"? In fact, why do the pronounce most shite the way they do? Puon-sil (pencil). Earrnge (orange), credik, etc.

I have no idea what you are even arguing here. I am born, raised, and still live in BR. I have Cajun blood flowing through my veins. I say BAT-in roozh.
