As a Millennial, I cannot comprehend why our generation is referred to as lazy and self-entitled. We're filled to the brim with work ethic. We were raised on the 3rd-6th generation of game consoles, depending on when we were born. Games released during that timeframe were often hard, fun, and a test of perseverance. Beating games was rewarding. We had to work for the secret content we wanted to unlock. The cartoons we were raised on like DuckTales, Ren and Stimpy, Recess, pre-movie SpongeBob, The Powerpuff Girls, and Homestar Runner were all envelope-pushing, timeless, and taught us good behavior while providing us with good laughs.

Zoomers (Gen Z) are so much worse. They have no work ethic thanks to being raised on pay-to-win video games filled with DLC. The cartoons they grew up with, particularly the ones that were prominent in the late 2000s like Squirrel Boy and Camp Lazlo, were watered down and influenced bad behavior in them. While they did have some good cartoons like Adventure Time and Gravity Falls, it just wasn't the same as what Millennials grew up with.

Zoomer denial is absolutely real. I know many people born in the late 90s who desperately try to classify themselves as Millennials. Just because you may vaguely remember Cartoon Network's City era and watching reruns of the original Teen Titans does NOT make you a Millennial. Live with being associated with the tide pod-eating Fortnite addicts.

Every generation gets hate from prior generations. Millenials aren't special in this regard, even though most of the criticisms of that generation are dumb and unfounded.

Zoomers are at their oldest what, 22-23? It's a little too early to judge their work ethic, though I suspect it will be shite just like their predecessors.

You're basing your argument off of video games and cartoons? JFC

Gen Z begins with the people who weren't in K-12 when 9/11 happened. I was in kindergarten when it happened and I was the youngest person in my grade.

Let me know when you get tortured by the likes of Ghosts and Goblins, Megaman 1, and Silver Surfer on NES.

I think a few bad apples are spoiling the class of 1980-1990. Men in their 30s that voted for Obama gave us man buns and faux outrage over trivial issues that have given the rest of us a bad name.

We didn't have cell phones growing up, got to play outside a ton, Mario brothers was about all we played on Nintendo, and many of us are hard workers and always have been.

Now the next generation- good lord.

Honestly never played those. My time was the N64/GameCube era.

Well Gen X was referred to as "Slackers, apathetic, aloof, cynical." You'll be ok.

Who is "we?" If you're referring to Baby Boomers or Generation X, I respect you. If you're referring to *gag* Zoomers, I laugh at you even harder.

Many of the criticisms are unfounded because of social media culture. Social Media is really the source of most of the criticism.

That said, you can use other examples outside of video games. Like the fact that Millennials earn more degrees in STEM/Business/and Health than prior generations. This is largely due to the fact that just have ANY college degree was valuable back in pre-1980 for the most part. Jobs markets were nowhere near as strict on educational requirements.

Conformity is another issue (although this has happened in previous generations). While their are some issues I'll agree with regarding conformity (follow laws, etc) their does need to be acceptance of other lifestyles and non traditional jobs.
This is where millennials do well.

The year you were born in doesnt matter. It's what you do with your life. Plus, you need to remember that most people live in their own bubbles. Everyone of their friends and associates thinks like them and nobody challenges them to think outside the box for solutions or even question why they believe what they do.
