Why do many African Americans have such odd names?

Not that Jaxon and aiden aren’t a little weird in their own right but where do people get the idea of making their kid zymariontae or ky’ara? Is their a reason for this? Maybe some of our brothers on the board can help me out.

My dogs name is Ike.. I took him to the vet and the vet tech. asked me "how do I pronounce your dog's name?" I laughed and said it's just Ike.

People wanna be special man. They want their kids to be special. They give them special names. White people do this shite too. It's for attention.

But I’ve met and talked to actual Africans and their names don’t seem anything like most African American names. Yes they definitely are not English words but for instance an actual African name would be obide (Nigerian). It’s not Anfernee or jalarius.
