Eatel is ok. I've had some shitty CSR's with them as well.
To the OP, you have to realize you're dealing with people making maybe $12-15 an hour.

I work for one of the biggest telecom companies, and I agree our customer service has some significant opportunities for improvement--to put it nicely.
That said: We have actual company-owned storefronts in every area that we serve. For the most part, those guys/gals are on top of their game. They speak English, and they perpetually get excellent customer service reviews.
I work in the field--connecting new customers and repairing existing installs. For my part, I always leave my contact information for customers to call me directly. When they do reach out to me, I get issues resolved or get them to the right place WAY faster that Habib Von Xandernguyen (i.e., "Bob") in India.
TLDR: Take customer service issues to the local store (not the mall kiosk or the "authorized retailer"), or get FCP to install your service and call him :-)

I miss Eatel. Now, my only choices are Cox or AT&T.

Because in most cases, you're a captive audience.

Sux ATT doesnt have this kind of thing. you go in a store to talk you talk to a sales guy who keeps looking at the door when someone comes in. you just know they are think "damn 10+yr customer aint got nothing left for me to bonus off of". Especially since i'm a uverse customer. ATT has just taken a big massive turd on Uverse customers to push directTV. "Sure i'll take a dish cause we all know how well they handle storms. You know the moment you are stuck at home, so wanting your TV to work right?!?!" f-ing a. Also uverse is so much more expensive. Crazy how we pay a premium for shite service.
Ohhhh and still paying an extra $10 a month for HD channels? Que?? Like I anyone watches the old type channels anymore. I thought it was stupid over 10yrs ago when I first got uverse, and cant believe these "infrastructure rate" increases hasnt fixed that.

Out of all the places i've lived, Eatel is the best service ive ever had
I just switched to Eatel because Cox gave me a big f off when I called about better rates due to a great Eatel promotion. I've been with Cox for 18 years and nothing, they said I should take the other deal basically.

Because you don't have a choice.

Because what are you going to do have no internet?
And in most cases there’s only one ISP per town or county or whatever so where else are you going to go

I’m hoping that when 5G cellular service gets fully rolled out in a few years, it will offer an alternative for home Internet service. Hot spot and go. It’s suppsed to be amazingly fast when using 5G devices.
The cost may not be any less, but it would avoid the wiring and issues that go along with that.
