I have no patience for people who fake injuries or people who treat the legitimately handicapped like shite. If you don't know what it's like for it to be excruciating to walk, that's great. But some people live their life in constant pain it's a blessing for them just to be able to use a handicap spot.

The problem is not truly handicap prople getting a spot or skipping line it is people that get said benefits cause they rent a damn scooter at disney. I assume you are here as well.

I agree. That's why I always park in handicap spaces. If they want to be equal let them walk,crawl,hobble,or roll like the rest of us.

There are disabled people who have other issues besides not being able to use their legs. For instance, my son tires very quickly. Waiting in a long line isn't always possible for him. Just sitting upright in his chair takes energy he doesn't always have to give. Also, have you ever tried to use a wheelchair all day long? It's very fatiguing. Especially when you often have to go out of your way to get where you're going. Legally, businesses have to provide X number of handicap spaces depending on the size of the parking lot. They also have to provide a ramp. Next time you're out, look for the ramps in relation to the door of a business and the handicap spaces. They are usually out of the way. So, yeah, you get to park up close, then you have to backtrack along a sidewalk to get to the ramp and then turn around and go back to the door. Also, rolling on asphalt isn't as easy as other surfaces. Not to mention there is a slight upward slope to the door at many busineses which takes a lot of effort. By the time you get inside, you're already tired. It's not like you're just sitting in a chair all day. Sorry you had to wait a few extra minutes to give someone else a breather.

I'd like to know where you got your information from, because the ADA defines disability and governs when Handicaps are required. States can't limit the federal law, they can only enhance it (any limitation would be preempted by the federal law).

I can believe this. One of my besties had to use one for almost a year. She has some very impressive biceps now.

I remember when I was in the hospital, when i couldn't really walk, the nurse made me go take a shower because she was sick of the poor sponge baths. They gave me a walker. But I really shouldn't have been leaving the bed yet because my feet were fricked. It took me 15 minutes to get to the shower in my hospital room and I fainted it was so straining because I had to drag my entire body with my arms via walker. That sucked. I got better. Some people never do.

I think you are clueless about what a disability is. And quite possibly dumb enough to confuse it with handicapped.
My brother is disabled from a nerve issue and can't practice dentistry.
He bowhunts daily.
He doesn't need to park closer than me.
Disabled has many meanings and doesn't automatically = handicapped or wheelchair
