Don’t know. Mine is side by side. 1986 SubZero still going strong, with a few repairs over the years.

I don't understand why a "reliable" ice maker these days has to cost an arm and a leg. Can we not make anything that doesn't need to be replaced every two years?

Ice makers are the worst of them all though. I don't think I've ever had one that made 3 years.

I have a side-by-side and a dedicated freezer in the garage, so it's not something that concerns me. The fridge I had before actually had the freezer on the bottom too.
