I average 21 with my Hemi 360hp and 8 speed

But I do a lot of highway, and towing is 12-14

sitting in hwy 30 traffic every day doesn't do me any favors. I'm gonna get a tuner after Christmas and hopefully get an accurate reading

I was just looking at tuners this morning.

My warranty is almost up and I've wanted to look into them. It's sort of overwhelming because there are so many to choose from

My Tacoma maxes out at 15 mpg, but I always drive it harder than that. I had it in 4Lo yesterday and I pedaled through all of the gears. Sounds like a tractor and topped out about 30 mph, but it was super fun. The only time I ever GAF about mileage is on long trips, where the range can be disappointing. I don't think I've ever gotten 300 miles to a tank...if so I was coasting into a little town. Scary out west.

I get about 520 a tank

It's nice to just about be able to go to Houston and back without filling up, but that's useless because I always stop at bucees

A bigger tank, or an auxiliary one, would be my solution before screwing with the engine/gearing.

Same here, but I just can't drive 6+ hours anymore without stopping.

I've got to stop and stretch my back every 2 hours at least these days so it might as well be where I can take a leak in a clean restroom and get some jerky

Try an F-250 towing a trailer making 9 mpg with a 25 gallon tank

I don't understand why they put those small tanks on the superduties while the F150 gets a 36 gallon tank option

That's what, 3-4 gallons?

Don't tell me they couldn't make a bigger tank.

My dad has a new Sierra 2500 and the def tank is under the hood, yet his diesel tank is still like 26 gallons

I feel pretty confident that an automaker could create at least a midsize pickup truck that gets 36 or more miles to the gallon, but I'm not a mechanic so perhaps I'm wrong.

Most fuel efficient truck on the road is the Chevy Colorado diesel. It tows 7700 lbs and gets 31mpg.

And "mid sized" today is basically full sized from 20 years ago, so that's impressive mileage.

Ram had a 29 mpg truck as well.

So, IMO, trucks today get excellent mileage. Time to switch to diesel and smaller displacement gas motors.

Really, really hate this feature in all new cars and trucks

Rented a Malibu in Minneapolis last year with the auto start/stop feature. It was about -8 degrees outside. It only stopped the engine once and that was in the relatively warm parking garage.

Other than that stupid feature, it was a nice little car. There might be a way to turn it off without flash freezing the car but I don't know it.

Maybe my truck nuts hinder my gas mileage.

Yeah but this a joke. The Colorado Diesel is a $3,700 premium over the v6!!!! You'll never make that up, plus while tourque is good on diesels the Chevy is only 180HP! Anyone who buys this is an idiot when you can get a well-equipped full sized F150 or Silverado for that much coin.
