The frames per second is way too low to catch a crafty ghost who phase-shifts at a much higher frequency.
Occasionally they can get photographed but video doesn't sync with them.

The interaction between ectoplasm and light can't be detected with digital cameras. You need traditional film to have a chance.

Same thought applies to Bigfoot, Yeti, Sasquatch, Swamp Ape, Aliens, Vampires, Werewolf, Frankenstein, Chupacabra, UFOs, Unicorns, Loch Ness Monster.

Not entirely true - you can photograph them with an old range finder camera. Just can't get them with an SLR because of the mirrors.

I know a real ghost who happened to get caught in a scene in the girl ghostbusters by happenstance. That shite is humiliating for any reputable ghost. It would be like Tom Hanks getting coincidentally filmed in the background of The American.
