Before man knew how to ride horses, dogs were a man's best friend
When people used horses to get around and do work, horses were a man's best friend
When people traded horses for cars and machines...the dogs got their title back.
Most dogs now don't even serve a useful purpose. They are just spoiled animals living a life of luxury. I say dogs win in the end.

When I tell a horse let's go for a walk does it run over and get its halter and lead rope? When I tell a horse let's go for a ride does it run to the car and when the door is opened hop up and sit in its assigned seat?

Horses aren't very smart and even a good one will try to kick, bite or throw you.

Horses have been made to sacrifice a lot for humanity though. How many millions up millions have charged straight into their deaths in countless wars or been made to run to their deaths?

Horses aren't as good as dogs for 'man's best friend' but they do get treated with a similar degree of stupidity IMO. This video appears to show a horribly stupid decision at trying to force a mare to mate with a stallion, and the mare then kicks the stallion and kills it. I first saw this and thought this has to be poor handling and the comments seem to confirm it's utter jackassery that got this stallion killed. She kicks him in the head and he is done.
