Is it? Why were Thursday and Friday of this week cancelled for the diocese of BR? Not because Marco would still be around.

Because I'm touting a school that handled this correctly while the diocese looks like idiots because they cancelled a week of school on Saturday?

Yes. This is the correct answer. I know of one school in particular that is under a strict non-disclosure setup right now

I’m wondering why the catholic schools didn’t send out a mass text this morning saying school will be back on starting Tuesday. Couldn’t they do that? That doesn’t “inconvenience” parents.

Working parents would be like “sweet now i don’t have to pay a sitter all week.”

At Home parents would be like “sweet now these kids who have been driving me crazy at home since March, WON’T be driving me crazy at home all week like i previously thought.”

It has seemed pretty apparent for a while now that our leadership in government doesn’t give a damn about education or the parents who believe their tax dollars will be used towards it. It’s true at this point, their isn’t much difference in whether kids are in school or not because the educational benefit would be about the same. Kids in my parish today were actually better off if they were virtual because the internet was down all day in every school, so most classes had absolutely nothing to do because everything was online.

Today is a nice day and tomorrow is likely to be fine, too.

Although I agree with most of your post, part of this sentence is 100% wrong. I'll let you do the research.

We really should wait longer to make decisions. Why should we give people the opportunity to make arrangements for their families?

We were never going to have anything more than some rain today, at the worst. Ended up sprinkling for about 2 minutes.

They basically said frick it. Let’s take the week off. We need a break already

My son’s school opened back up for tomorrow after closing. The announced it at the same time they announced closing.

Are you ok with that?

Posted a similar, though longer, comment on my personal FB questioning the rationale of the Diocese's premature decision and got a call from the principal. Yes, seriously. I shouldn't have "shamed" the diocese, etc.

The school my kids go to in Covington announced that they’d be closed through Thursday over the weekend. Why would you make that decision that far out?!? Makes no sense.
