Some of us try not to stuff our gullet at every opportunity.

So are yall not seeing 20+ oz steaks at your grocery stores or are the fat asses here acting like that’s a normal portion for steak?

I ate a 42oz porterhouse, baked potato, and salad when I was 14. Almost 30 years later and I'm still 5'10 and 155#. You must be a midget or something.

less smaller steaks mean they have to sell more of them to make same amount of money

Strips are for girls, eat t-bones like real men.
That said, I generally see 16 oz cuts at the store, not so much 20 oz.

Why? I hate to cut them in half but who is eating 20+ oz strips??
I cook one and then cut it in slices and my wife and I share it. This isn't hard.

You do realize that the majority of a T-Bone is comprised of a strip, right?

Exactly, and the other part is the filet, which is the least manly cut. Again, what a clown.

I have seen it. I recently went into Brookshires and was looking for one steak to cook to make steak bites / rice. One steak was damn near the same price as 2 ginormous ones. So I just got the two and made enough for a salad or sandwich another day.

Doubt he does.

I have a friend who would get t-bones from the butcher when he'd get his cows slaughtered. I had to point out to him that it ruined two cuts, the strip and the tenderloin. Plus, you can't cook a t-bone right, because the tenderloin side should cook less than the strip side. He told me he just like t-bones because it made him feel like real cowboy. Talk about a clown.

Eventually he did get a tenderloin from the butcher, and I showed him how to slice it real thin, and just eat it raw with onions. He was hooked.

I guess the addition of 3 ounces of fillet make it manly

That’s what I do when they’re that big. My question was is that the expectation is that most people are doing? It feels wrong to be slicing up a steak like that since they’re usually a specific cut.

usually get 6 oz filets or 10 oz strips
