They don't report much beyond murder. They certainly don't report petty theft. But, if you think those crimes besides murder don't cause significant long term damage to the community in almost every aspect of life, then you're beyond help.

I can sympathize with the fact that white collar crime is based more on personal greed vs. environmental conditions. Inner city crime is a symptom of LBJ's "Great Society". With that being said, white collar crime is less violent. Money might get taken but your life and limbs remain intact. Don't be surprised that people will be more horrified by (and therefore focus on more) situations where the victim is more directly and more intimately violated. I would much rather someone take my retirement fund than get shot or someone I care about sexually assaulted. Anyone who says otherwise is either a liar or sociopath.

Mixing up quite a few things. Some of the things you named are not white collar crime.

And white collar crime is punished. I have to take training all year to remind me that if someone fricks up, intentionally or not, finesnof several hundred million and jail time will follow suit

It's simple. There are two reasons. Ratings and frequency. Which do you think is going to get more ratings? A dead body or an empty 401k account? Also, which happens more often? Dozens/hundreds/thousands of murderers/rapists/thieves aree caught every day.
