re: Why are school killings almost inherently American?

quote:Correct. I then added this to encapsulate the entire world
So given the OP, the question is why so often in America compared to the other 35 or however many countries he listed?
Here is a combiled list of all "school massacres" documented throughout the world, as defined here
quote:
This list of school massacres by death toll contains those cases that occurred at kindergartens, schools and universities, as well as their affiliated buildings. If the perpetrator was a member of the school staff and the victims primarily his colleagues the case is not included here, but added to the list of workplace killings. School massacres are counted as incidents involving at least two deaths, excluding the potential death of the perpetrator.
USA- 39
China-18
Canada-5
Germany 3-
Finaland-3
Brazil-3
Israel-2
Russia-2
Thailand-2
Not a single other country with more than 1.
But once again, we know some countries wont report as accurately as others. But if one still wants to completely bury their head in the sand act blame it on the data again go ahead
LINK
I own guns, and I hunt. But I dont want to simply beat my chest and refuse to discuss why these school incidents seem to be so unique to our country because I am mad at the other side for making it about guns. What if is about guns?

SELF-REPORTED school killings.
Holy frick I hate you imbeciles. You go find your blog of the day with the same tired data that is tainted and then run around crying about "chirren"
I know I am.

how can data be correct if self-reported?
let me put this in terms you can understand.
leBron uses the NBA to report his stats.
Cpt self-reports his stats for his NBA play.
Cpt has stats that are better than Lebron. Do you think this is accurate?

The hilarity of it all is he's calling me an idiot when he doesn't realize that I'm actually against the reactionary regulation of firearms. I'm just not nitpicking the data to try and downplay the increase in violent killings on high school campuses in the US.

We're talking about violence on secondary education campuses committed by fellow (or former) students for the most part.
most of those raped in countries like S. Africa know their attackers and are other students in schools.
Most girls dont even go to school for fear of being raped.
shite, even Oprah;s school was just a child rape dungeon.
Seriously, how are you this uninformed?

If we want to talk about the overall safety of the communities in South Africa and the US
Im literally talking about the schools. Dont even get started in Muslim countries where women cant go to school.

mass killings on campus by fellow students are off the charts in the US vs. its peers. Nothing more.
they arent off the charts. again, data is about standards and consistency.

Semiautomatic rifles with "high capacity" magazines have been available for civilians to purchase since at least the 1940s. And if anything, you had fewer restrictions on ownership, not more.
The dreaded AR15 has also been available to civilians since the early 60s.

im not downplaying anything. I just want real numbers to be used.
the problem is you have a teacher like the OP who is too stupid to understand that a FB infographic is not an answer.

Love that you are calling a teacher stupid while proving just how much an a-hole LEO you are.

Ok, let's forget about the other countries for a second. Are you trying to say that school shootings in the US aren't a problem?

quote:Yeh I agree. We have had a huge rise in these incidents since 2011, yet nothing got easier regarding purchasing guns.

I think the easy access to guns def helps our number get as large as it is, but it is not the root cause on why these killings happen at such a higher rate here

Im not a LEO either. You must have missed when I would post daily bad cop stories...sad.

Apologies. I guess I do have you confused with another LEO a-hole.

As I said earlier. That’s when the proliferation of constant communication between students really began to take off.
The closest thing I had to that in HS was AIM chatrooms but we were still on dialup and there was one computer in the house so it wasn’t 24/7 barrage of insults or the ability to be inspired by others, etc.
Posted on 2/15/18 at 3:38 pm to KG6
Completely agree. The sensationalism around mass shootings is definitely driving the rate at which this occurs.
Posted on 2/15/18 at 3:41 pm to lsupride87
There's an article describing how media should handle these incidents to discourage future attention seekers from doing this.......
And the media breaks all of the rules every time.
Don't show his face.
Don't reveal his name.
Don't spend much time talking about it.
Don't do 24/7 coverage.
Don't reveal step by step details of how it was done.
Don't give anyone else any motivation to do it.
Bastards do it every time.
