Because that’s what is popular with the woke crowd.
Absolutely, just have to find something to be offended by

Because even suggesting someone works out is body shaming.

Yep. He shoulda given her a sandwich press instead. She can then vlog about all of his lunches.

Because people have to have something to be outraged over, and the Jew chicks remake isn't funny at all

I hate the commercial because it's annoying and over the top unrealistic
Then I went online and saw the commercial referred to as "a symbol of the patriarchy" and that the actress had to come out and apologize for participating in it
This world is fricked

Maybe I missed it but I haven’t seen any outrage?
I’ve just seen it being made fun of for being incredibly dumb

I assume fat people are offended?
Wrong. Its SJWs. Sure some are fat but its not the main reason they're pissed. First They're probably pissed shes married and a man gives her presents. Then they're pissed because its a man telling a woman what to do.

I'm not raging or anything, it's just over the top stupid. We're supposed to believe this chick's life changed because of a Peleton? Maybe if she was a fatass at the beginning of the commercial, but otherwise it's more depressing than anything. Poor girl needs to get out more.
It reminds me a little bit of the car commercials where the husband secretly buys a brand new car for Christmas morning. No sane couple is doing that without consulting each other first (OT ballers the exception, obviously).

I don't get the outrage over this commercial either.
I think the creators of the ad wanted to incorporate how there is a whole community aspect of Peloton (notice where she is happy she got praise from one of the instructors during a ride) and they failed to capture that.
There really is a huge community aspect to the company. There are multiple Peloton groups on various forms of social media where people come together. I'm actually the member of a private group on fb for women Peloton riders in our 40s and we've come together many times to support members in our group. Not just posting about the bike but actually posting about the trials we are facing in our lives and getting support from one another through them(kinda like how us TD users have supported one another through some of the heavy shite we've had thrown at us in our lives). People in the communities encourage one another to also reach fitness goals. To an outsider it may seem cheesy and silly...but it is a big reason why so many like Peloton.
I see the ad and just see a woman that is happy about the expensive gift her husband got her. For all we know he has seen how stressed she is and she has complained of not having enough time to do all she wants to do. She is a mom (notice the little girl in the commercial) and works and likely has a hard time finding time to fit in working out on top of working and being a mother. She obviously doesn't need to lose weight but fitness isn't always about weight loss. Maybe she just wants to be in better health in general. Maybe she just likes spin classes as her form of stress relief(like a person that runs because they truly enjoy it and the endorphins they get after they run).
Maybe she feels guilty that such an expensive gift was given for just her to use and she videoed her progress to show her husband how much she appreciates the gift he got her and that she actually uses it.
I mean...if we are gonna nitpick over the meaning of a commercial that exists for the sole purpose of selling a product.....why not look at if from another angle.

I like to pretend this woman is in an emotionally abusive relationship. It explains the dumb commercial to me

People love to hate wealthy, good looking, fit white people when they fall out of line

I think you are conflating “jimmies rustled” with “this ad sucks and it’s on several times a day”.

I think Peloton would do better to feature what a normal Peloton rider looks like.
Quit showing the bike in this all glass multi million dollar home overlooking the ocean. With a very attractive and fit person that doesn't need to lose a pound.
Show a normal person that wants to lose 15-20 pounds using the bike in their extra bedroom or in their basement.

I always joked with the wife about the commercial before the outrage.... nothing to do with the patriarch bullshite - just the obnoxiousness of her making the dude watch a video diary of her the next year.

Yeah I’ve always noticed that about Peloton. All their ads are in some luxury condo or apartment and to me just subliminally sent the message that they’re expensive as all hell.
They just started showing the one with the normal guy in the suburbs riding Christmas morning.
